It’s a strange ol’ world. I submitted a poem MANY months ago and never heard a thing, so I thought it would be okay to send it out again. Off the ‘child’ went to Paris.
Then I got an email late at night – and very late in the day – to say the original submission was accepted. WTF.
SO, I had to drag my poor poem back from Paris (where it was hanging out with the cool poems and slurping absinthe), and send a new one.
AND IT WON this year’s Celebrating Women With Words!
‘Litany For the Never Forgotten’ is a new poem in TIDAL, my next collection from Doire Press which will be published in September.
Merci, Cercle Littéraire Irlandais. It was lovely to ‘visit’ Paris and take part in the event along with the other prize-winners. Also fab to hear Anne Fitzgerald read from her collection Not To Scale, and to listen to the bell-like voice of Liv Monaghan.
